Music Therapy ($20,000 per year)
Each week, music therapist Amy Zabin spends 4 hours in the medical oncology unit and Bendheim Cancer Center offering music therapy to oncology patients. And each Tuesday in the hospital’s chapel, she leads a journey into deep relaxation using crystal singing bowls, flutes, guitars and guided imagery. Underwriting is needed to sustain this program.

Electromyographic (EMG) Biofeedback Program ($10,000 per year)
As part of its stress management services, the Center’s current biofeedback program includes heart rate variability and temperature biofeedback. However, during this procedure many people experience significant muscle strain, especially in their necks and shoulders. Electromyographic (EMG) biofeedback allows the patient to train themselves through the use of electronic or electromechanical instruments to specifically relax tense muscles and thus relieve their pain and headache.

Oncology Massage Program ($50,000 per year)
Any patient in the Medical Oncology Unit or diagnosed with cancer is eligible to receive a ½-hour massage provided by a licensed therapist free of charge, Monday through Friday. Massage can reduce stress, relieve tension and promote relaxation. Funds are needed to support this sought-after service. The program costs $50,000 per year, but smaller donations are welcome.

Healing Touch Program ($10,000 per year)
In this program, specially trained volunteers visit the bedside and offer gentle energy therapy free of charge to inpatients. By promoting relaxation, this energy therapy reduces pain and anxiety and enhances the body’s natural restorative process. In order to sustain this program, we seek funding to offer both Level I and Level II training courses to train more volunteers as well as fund a coordinator for the program.

Medical Lecture Series in Schools (4 Lectures) ($2,000 per school)
A multi-faceted School Program is being offered to parents, educators and students throughout the community. The program provides stress management and health information through a special lecture series plus group and individual training sessions that address stress issues and help create a healing environment at home and in school. A gift for this program would allow us to more intensively support a specific school in its specific needs.

Nutrition Lecture Series to School (4 Lectures) ($1,500 per school)
As in the above gift option, the nutrition lecture gift would allow us to more effectively help a school transform its nutrition program or would allow us to more completely educate students about the nutritional needs of their bodies.
